A sign of just where the Association is at present.
A total of 16 people attended the AGM at the Wacol Museum precinct on Sat 19 Oct.
As usual there were a number of members unable to be present—illness, overseas travel etc, and even one member who advised during the meeting that he had completely forgotten and sent his apologies—truly a sign of where the Association is these days.
The usual President, Treasurer, Museum Curator and Welfare Officer reports were tabled and President and Treasurer reports are attached.
The current Committee members were reappointed, the honorary positions of Patron Maj. Gen John Pearn, Museum Curator and Welfare Officer (Paul Brown, Hon Solicitor, Craig Ray, and Chaplain, Ron MacDonald. It is great to see the appointment of a Treasurer, Michael White, who lives in Canberra.
One resolution proposed by President Phil “The Association members resolve and acknowledge former treasurer, Kieran Nelson’s and committee member, Mal Zimmerman’s long service with and contribution to PNGVR and the Association” was passed at the conclusion of the meeting.
After the meeting the Museum remained open and a pleasant BBQ lunch was cooked by Peter Rogers (younger) while everyone mingled and caught up on old times.
