AGM 2005 Long Tan Sgts Mess, Enogerra.
28 Members and guests attended the 2005 AGM held at the Long Tan Sergeants Mess, Gallipoli Barracks on the 1 October, with 11 members electing to "overnight".
The catering and service provided by the Mess was again outstanding, and we are grateful to have been given permission to use their facilities.
Elected to the Executive Committee were:-
Phillip Ainsworth (President);
John Mudge, (VP PNG Rep);
Bob Collins (VP);
Col Gould (Secretary);
Doug Ng (Treasurer);
Bruce Crawford (Hon Solicitor); and
Committee members Paul Brown, John Holland, Tom Dowling and Mal Zimmermann.
Thanks to the kind generosity of Ken Hitchcock, there was ample good Port available on the night In fact the Port seemed to get better as the night progressed, and this may be the reason why only 9 out of the 11 members who over-nighted made Sunday breakfast. Two were MIA. (Missing in Action) . Many a good story was told and many a great joke—wish I could have remembered the jokes the day after.
Life Membership was awarded to Barry Wright in recognition of his efforts and support over the years in organizing and hosting ( along with wife Pam) the Bush Dinners at Jimboomba. Congratulations Barry.
