MONTEVIDEO MARU SERVICE
On the 1 July, the Association hosted its annual memorial service in the Shrine of Memories, Brisbane. 45 members and guests attend the service led by Rev Allan MacFarland. Jack Goad (NGVR) read out the names of civilians and Joe Fisk (PNGVR) the names of NGVR personnel who lost their lives as prisoners of war during the sinking of the ship.
Later in the day members attended another service in the Shrine of Memories to honour fallen and absent comrades on what has become (1 July) Reserve Forces Day. The Regiment was well and truly represented at this function.
