Formal Dining Night, Victoria Barracks Officers & Sergeants Mess, 2008.

49 Members and guests enjoyed the facilities and good food at the Victoria Barracks Officers & Sergeants Mess, Brisbane during the Association’s 2008 pre- ANZAC Day Regimental Mixed Dinner Reunion.
Dining President was Phil Ainsworth and our special guests included our Patron, Major-General John Pearn, Capt Keith Payne, VC and Mrs Flo Payne, author Tom Richman and, from PNG, former PIR member (Dr) Colonel Jethro Usurup (Rtd).

National Servicemen’s Band Piper, Ian Millard, provided a stirring Bagpipe background as the top table guests took their places followed by the Australian, Regimental and Papua New Guinea Flags.
Pre-dinner sherry, a 3 course alternate drop dinner, table wine and good Port was enjoyed by all. The end of dinner, “Kangaroo Court" was hosted by Dining Vice Col Gould.
Our 2009 Regimental Mixed Dinner Reunion will be held) on Thursday 23 April in Brisbane. We would like to see more of our members attend this once a year function and^ ask that you place this date in your 2009 diary.
Our sincere thanks to the Officers & Sergeants Mess staff for their excellent catering and attention to all the finer details during the evening. Thanks also to Bob Collins for his pre-dinner menu and costs negotiations and to Paul Brown for bringing in and setting up all the flags and top table settings ( Sword. Bayonet, Dinner Bell etc etc ).
