EXERCISE STEELE TUFF 2005
Exercise "Steele Tuff" 2005 was conducted at Greenbank and Enoggera where the sections underwent intensive activities to test stamina, military knowledge, tactics, team work and weapon handling. For example, imagine that you are leading a section of 8 or 9 diggers and come across an army land rove with all four tyres flat. It is raining and the ground muddy. You must change all four tyres (4 spares available) with only one long wooden pole, a block of wood and a wheel brace. There is no jack and time is critical. You have one minute to consider the problem.
The winning section achieved this task in 8 minutes.
The winning section of the Association's Military Excellence Award was a Section from C Coy, Loganlea. Cpl Harper, L/Cpl Hart, Pte Wintzloff, Pte Keen, Pte English, Pte Williams, Pte Selby Pte Montomery and Pte Dawson.
9 RQR is commanded by Lt Col Chris Austin and the RSM is WO1 Peter March.
